  • On June 14, 2009 Metropolitan Ioan of Cherkasy and Chyhyryn consecrated the cross and the site for the construction of the church.

,,Free Kozatstvo of Kholodnyi Yar”, after consecrating of the holy Petro Longsuffering (Kalnyshevskyi) to a saint initiated the construction of the first in Ukraine Cossack church of Petro Kalnyshevskyi in the very heart of Kholodnyi Yar. On June 14, 2009 Metropolitan Ioan of Cherkasy and Chyhyryn consecrated the cross and the site for the construction of the church. The bishop was served by the clergy of the Chyhyryn denomination of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv patriarchate.
