According to one legend, the wells were built during the Liberation War, led by Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. Convoys with wounded soldiers stretched to the village of Subotiv. Exhausted by wounds and by heat, the Cossacks stopped in the valley near the source. It is right here, according to the legend, there was a military hospital. One day, three horsemen rode into the village, each holding a fiercely wounded comrade. By order of the hetman, the soldiers were left with a healer, who treated them with herbs infused with spring water. Soon the Cossacks recovered and each of them dug a well in the place of healing springs.
According to the other legend, at this place the Cossacks watered the horses. Bohdan Khmelnytskyi once ordered to water the horses and there was not enough water in the two wells, that's why he ordered to dig a third one, and the origin of the name Three Wells is associated with this.
It is believed that the Three Wells are fed from three different sources, the taste of the water differs, the water has healing properties. Although in fact they are fed from one and the same source.
