The structure of the Palace of Pioneers, resembling an alien ship, appeared in the Dnieper in 1990. It was designed by architect E.V. Amosov. In most rooms located in the annular part of the building, it provided for natural lighting penetrating from opposite sides of the building. The futuristic view of the former Palace of Pioneers with portholes, tunnels and rounded galleries resembles a space station. It was assumed that such structures would awaken the desire for creativity and invention among the younger generation.

The Palace of Pioneers as an organization was formed in 1934 and during this time was located in different buildings. Due to its expansion and lack of facilities, in the late 80s it was decided to build a new building of the Palace.
The New Palace was built in 1990 according to the project of E.V. Amosov. The area of all premises of the structure is about 10 thousand square meters. On the basis of this Palace, children's clubs, clubs and creative groups worked, the methodical service of the pioneer organization functioned.
Now the building is not used.
