For ten years he worked in the Russian theater companies in Galicia, and because of this he gained a lot of stage experience, studied the specifics and laws of theatrical art, developed his creative principles, understanding of the place of theater in society.
In 1882, Marko Kropyvnytsky organized his own theater company, which in October this year played the iconic play “Natalka Poltavka” by Ivan Kotlyarevsky.
Natalka Poltavka was the first purely Ukrainian original play, and the performance of Mark Kropyvnytsky in 1882 marked the beginning of the original Ukrainian theatrical art. So Kropyvnytsky became the father of the first professional realistic theater - the Coryphaeus Theater....
