Museum of Bohdan Khmelnytsky is located at the foot of Zamkova hora, in the premises of the povit’s uprava (former – administrative unit administration), restored according to the drawings of the early nineteenth century.
The Museum consists of 10 halls, where there are exhibits about the military, foreign policy and state-building activities of the hetman, tells the history of the hetman’s capital - Chyhyryn, the events of the National liberation revolution of the Ukrainian people of the mid-seventeenth century.

The museum collection has about 2 000 exhibits. The enormous place in the collection plays by the historical things of the Cossack era: weapons and equipment, items of decorative and applied arts, numismatics, household utilities. With their help, the atmosphere in which Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi lived and solved statehood affairs was rendered. The museum collection also includes works of Ukrainian fine arts.
The key exhibit of the museum is a treasure of 901 coins made of silver and copper. The oldest is the coin of King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania Sigismund III in 1615 (it is 405 years old).
