Zmievsky Regional Museum is the center of district regional studies. There are two other museum facilities known in Kharkiv oblast: the Taranivsky Guards-Shironintsev Museum and the Sokolov Museum of Fighting Brotherhood, which form the only museum complex of Zmitshchyna.
During the years of its activity, the museum became a large-scale institution, which is doing a great job in gathering, preserving, studying and propagating the cultural and historical heritage of the region. The museum systematically participates in the work of archaeological, ethnographic, exploratory expeditions, which take place on the territory of Zmitshchyna.
Underwater archaeological research is conducted in the waters of the year Siversky Donets and Mozh.
The museum constantly organizes personal exhibitions of artists, masters of folk-applied arts. Exhibits have been exhibited at regional, national, and international exhibitions many times.
