Description

  • This hospital was designed by architect Jacob Pauchenko at the expense of physician Isaac Goldenberg. The building combines eclecticism and Moorish style, and its decoration has features of Spanish architecture.

Characteristic are arches, arcades, carved plaster, striped laying of colored bricks, intricate geometric ornaments, as on the eastern arch of the portal of the main entrance. The wooden carved door ornament is a rhythmic repetition of geometric elements and stylized floral motifs. The door opening is completed by a massive arched arch, which is erected on the capitals of the columnar pilasters that frame the door. Also interesting and unusual is the configuration of the cross section of the door transom. This initial decoration of the main facades of the building has been preserved almost completely.
