Caune, which contributed to the status of one of the largest stations of the Russian Empire. In 1912-1914, the building of the Directorate South Railway (project A. Dmitriev, I. Rakitin) was built, in 1927-1929 - the building of the Main Post Office (project A. Mordvinov). After the destruction during the Second World War, the buildings were rebuilt according to the designs of the architects G. Voloshin, E. Lymar, B. Mezentsev.
