In February 1919, N.A. was buried here. Rudnev (his remains were transported to Kharkov from Tsaritsin), in whose honor this territory was named until recently. In connection with the decommunization on November 20, 2015, the area was renamed to Heavenly Hundred Square.

Until that time, the building of judicial institutions was located on the square, which was erected in 1899-1902 according to the project of the Kharkov academician of architecture - Alexey Beketov and with the participation of Yu. Tsaune and V. Khrustalyov. Recently, in the house number 30 opened the socio-cultural center "Autonomy". The Builders Culture House, located on the square, was built in 1927. according to the project of a group of architects - J. A. Steinberg, I. Mileenis, I. Malozemov. Now it functions as the Palace of Culture of the Osnovyansky administrative district of the city.

The new reconstruction provides for a complete replacement of the road surface, updating of markings, traffic lights, the installation of new lighting and reconstruction of the place where the demolished monument to N.A. Rudnev was previously located. From the city budget they are going to allocate 4.1 million hryvnias for updating the area.
