Description

In 1678 the fortress was significantly fortified by engineer Patrick Gordon. It had a shape close to a triangle and consisted of two parts: the Old and the New Castle. The old castle was 187 m long, had a maximum width of 140 m from the south and was surrounded by two rows of walls.
