Built in 1910 in the Northern Art Nouveau style, it initially served as a private hospital and maternity hospital for GB. Bera. This is evidenced by the remains of the inscription "Maternity shelter Ber" on the facade. During its existence, the shelter provided free assistance to absolutely all women in childbirth, regardless of origin. In addition, the hospital operated an ophthalmic and surgical department.

Two-storey brick house with a basement in the back, has a "P" shaped in plan, with a rounded corner. Hospital building of the maternity hospital GB Bera is one of the finest modern-style buildings with high architectural and planning qualities.
The hospital consists of two perpendicularly angular rectangular wings on the red line of the quarter and partly added to the three floors of the former residential block that forms the northeastern risolite on the courtyard facade.
Internal planning is corridor, in a residential block - section type. Between the main wing and the block of flats on the side of the courtyard is an inscribed terrace on a brick foundation over which there is a balcony with round metal supports. The building has two entrances on the street. St. Nicholas and one of the courtyard (in the living quarters) and associated three-story cells with two-story stone steps. The floors of the structure are flat on the beams, which rest on the elongated walls. The roof is hipped, iron on wooden rafters. Facades of open brick masonry, folded by the Gothic (cartilaginous) system, the plinth is lined with granite blocks with a chipped surface.

The project of building his own house under No. 210 at the corner of Mykolaiv and Pokrovskaya streets was submitted for approval to the Alexander city council on May 12, 1911.

The project envisaged the erection of a two-storeyed stone building with basements for hospital, apartment and patio services (they are not preserved today). From the street. St. Nicholas Corps adjacent to the adjacent two-story home of the peasant-owner G. Keller, reconstructed in 1909, which was later annexed to the hospital.
The facility was often visited by residents of the Mennonite colony of Schweniz (now the district of the bus factory). In 1914, the list of medical establishments in Oleksandrivsk used for hospitals indicated this hospital, which could accommodate 50 beds for junior officers. Under the guidance of Doctor GB Bera and the care of the Shenviz Mennonite community provided surgical care to the wounded soldiers here. In Soviet times, the hospital was completely transformed into a maternity hospital. Today the hospital home of the hospital GB Bera is the city maternity hospital # 1.
