  • Thanks to the efforts of the team, the help of graduates and friends of the University, in 2016 a monument to Alexei Nikolaevich Beketov was erected in front of the main building of the university.

Kharkiv National University of Municipal Economy named after A.N. Beketov is a higher educational institution with a unique specifics of training specialists to ensure the life of cities and territories, which has a century-old history. Today the university prepares more than 10 thousand students, occupies leading positions in the All-Ukrainian ratings. On April 25, 2013, the Kharkiv National University of Municipal Economy was named after the outstanding Ukrainian architect, professor, academician of architecture Aleksey Nikolaevich Beketov, the founder of the University's architectural school. Today the University has a museum dedicated to the life and work of the architect. The University of Municipal Economy in Kharkov dates back to 1922, when the All-Ukrainian College of Public Utilities was established. During its existence, the name of the university has changed 12 times (Kharkov Institute of Urban Engineers, Kharkov National Academy of Urban Economy and others). In 2012, the university received the status of a university, and in 2013 it was named after the academician of architecture A.N. Beketov. Throughout its existence, the educational institution has always been associated with museum and exhibition activities. The idea of opening the museum complex in 1939 belonged to A.N. Beketov, who taught at the Faculty of Architecture from 1935 to 1941. The museum houses a permanent exhibition of academician A.N. Beketov (opened in 1998). The architect's gift, the Beketov Library, is carefully preserved.
