This building was erected in 1962 and was intended to house the State Security Committee of the Ukrainian SSR in Kharkov. Five-story building; the central entrance is underlined by the columns above it and connecting the 2nd to 5th floors of the building.
In Soviet times, this building was called the “building of death” because more than 3,820 Polish Army troops were shot here. On the side of the building, the windows do not let in light, and small boxes are installed near each window. Residents of the city say that they contributed to the interception of telephone conversations in Soviet times and, possibly, are still in effect.
